Hi Lori,

Here are a couple of pictures of the cookies and cake I made for the bridal shower.  I used the Guittard Cookie Coating Recipe you gave me for the cookies, they were delicious..This was the first time I used Satin Ice for a cake, loved it. Its easy to work with and tastes great.

I will never go back to the other brand ..Thank you for  being so  helpful and for all your tips.

I came in yesterday to pick up the bead maker and pearl dust. This is how my cake turned out. I made this cake for a friend and co-worker and she was very happy with it. Thanks again Lori for your help.

Lloyd - I am attaching the photo of the cake I made last fall,  the dusts I purchased from Cakewalk Chicago were used on the leaves.

It was made to celebrate many fall birthdays in one family. It's a half French vanilla and half German Chocolate 11x15 sheet, torted and filled with chocolate mousse. Iced in tinted vanilla buttercream, with chocolate buttercream borders. The leaves were made with various colors of melted candy coating and then dusting them with the food color and petal dusts I purchased from you.
Thanks again,  Rebecca  Sycamore, IL

Hi Lori & Lloyd
We were in a couple of weeks ago.
I was making a wedding cake and
you gave me some great suggestions.
Thanks so much.  I think it turned out
pretty good for my first ever wedding cake!      Marie

Hi Lori.  We came in early May because I                                                 wanted to make a purse cake for a cake and                                           spa product party. I was looking for a bead maker and pearl dust. You guys gave me some great suggestions and                                      reccommended Satin Ice fondant. I've attached a photo. Kind of basic but to the untrained eye (party guests)

Dear Cakewalk Chicago,

I thought you might like to see what some other sugar artists in the area are creating!  Thanks for your site...I will definitely stop in for some luster dust.    PS. I cover most of my cakes with chocolate plastic rather than fondant as it has a better flavor, but is much more difficult to work with, especially as the weather warms up.
Regards, Claudia Saraniecki of Saranecki Bros. Catering
it was a hit!   I've also attached the cake I made for my mother for Mother's Day. She collects teapots.   I'll definitely be in again soon!  Thanks,   Marie H.

Hi Cakewalk Chicago;
A few weeks ago I came in and purchased the pans, fondant, cake stand and other cake making supplies to make a wedding cake for my Son. I lugged all the materials plus most of the ingredients to the Czech Republic and made the cake, which is only the second wedding cake I have ever made.  Attached is a picture of the cake which everyone loved! Thank you for your help in finding the stand and I just wanted to let you know how glad I was that I found your business on the internet.   Sincerely,
Lesa P.

Hi New Friends,
I was so inspired after visiting your store.   Lori, thanks for all your great tips.  I have to say that my cake has room for improvement, but for the first time ever using fondant, its not to shabby. You will definitely see me again.    It was worth the long haul from Elburn, IL.    Jennifer O

Hi there!

It must have been Lori who helped me a few weeks ago.  I picked out some supplies to make a "Welcome to Chicago" cake for my fiance.  I had just moved here, myself, so I had no supplies at all!  I got some cake pans and colorings.  I even bought some fondant, but I ended up making my own (out of marshmallows!) and the cake turned out great:

"The cake is my baker's rendition of Chicago The perspective is facing South toward downtown.  There's the skyline in the center and Lake Michigan to the left (East).  Wrigley field is there on  the far left, then Lakeview and Lincoln Park moving center.   On the flat top of the cake, I added   in the "El" lines, the Red and Brown Lines leading North through Lincoln Park, Lakeview, and Wrigleyville.  And the Blue Line heading North-west into Wicker Park and Bucktown.  The cake was  layered chocolate brownie, peanut butter cake, and dark chocolate cake with fudge frosting."

It did take me ALL day, however.   Thanks for the help!

May 2007        Hi Lloyd,
Here is a photo of the completed basket of cookies for my new niece.  My sister loved them and couldn't believe they were all edible! I can't wait to do them again for the next two nieces or nephews due this year. Thanks for all your help.  I am going to TRY and stay out of the store for a while (scared to see my credit card bill). Enjoy the long weekend, A.D. Chicago

Hi Lori & Lloyd

I got pics from the wedding i did that you supplied.  Everything came out great, although i was nervous, until i got an enthusiastic thumbs up from the bride and groom. It was a vanilla bean yellow cake with vanilla pastry creme.  Very simple just like the wedding.
