The shop is kinda like an incubator providing resources and support for bakers, cake decorators and sugar crafters. People who shop with Cakewalk Chicago are part of a community. We talk about goals, we provide suggestions and guidance. Our little touch of south side retail heaven draws people from all over the city, suburbs, surrounding states and international visitors too.

Our name "Cakewalk" is a play on the African American dance rooted in celebration and Black resistance to white supremacy.  For us it's an reminder of our work to make even the most challenging designs effortless - and a piece of cake for you! 
 
In addition to introducing revolutionary products to our customers, we stock all of the biggest brands in the cake decorating and sugar universe, including favorites like Nielsen Massey, Ghiradelli,  LorAnn, Satin Ice, Ateco, Fat Daddio, Crisco, PME, Wilton, Colour Mill and many more.
